It’s been said “bloom where you’ve been planted” Does this apply if you’ve been planted in a crummy place? This morning glory seems to think so. Though it never got to be as big and beautiful as the ones planted in rich soil, it survived the entire season in that little crack in the pavement and put out its flower. The little flower this plant put out, though rough and ragged is worth more to me than any flower put out by the big and strong plants that produced several blooms. Why is this little tattered plant and its tiny bloom so valuable to me? This plant survived against all odds and made the best of what it had. The others had it all and it came easy to them. It was no surprise they bloomed. To bloom when life has given you the worst takes real integrity.
